Navi (Wonshik x Hakyeon), soulmates au

1 out of 2

(Anonymous) 2024-12-25 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)

(1 out of 2)

“Commander,” Wonshik pleaded, his shaky hands steadying at the edges of his superior’s uniform. “Please,” he whispered against skin, and finally, finally soft lips were on his, clouding his thoughts. It was like falling, and it must have been so transparent, because he was pushed against a wall, cornered, he couldn't fall anymore —but his right arm rubbed on the uneven cement, and it was the burning all over again, what if, what if he had yet to meet his destiny, and that was wrong—

Seconds to breathe, and he looked down, the apology swallowed by understanding. The hand cupping his face carefully sliding to squeeze the very burning place.

Wonshik recalled the day he met the rest of his team. Two hours standing below the blazing sun had him wanting to crawl out of his uniform, unbutton something, making him anxiously stretch out his collar. It couldn’t have been a good impression, the warm wind making it all worse, highlighting how outdated his haircut was. Even their youngest was more presentable, something intimidating about the visible blacked-out wrist.

It made Wonshik less miserable to know some zones had better practices about soulmate marks. His left hand always ended up in the same place, rubbing the skin above his elbows. It had been years, the scar already covered by inked words, and still.

That day, they all seemed like an odd choice for a team. Wonshik didn’t quite understand any of their assignments, and he wasn’t listening to any explanations, only able to pretend he was focused because their newly introduced superior was — interesting

The man supposed to lead them looked no older than himself, a youthful, boyish appearance from the shape of his face. The commander spoke kindly, always firm and decided, but never raising his voice. It was intriguing how the whole team stood taller than him, and yet, it was clear who was in charge.

After all formalities, they could finally learn about each other. Wonshik was pretty sure four of them didn’t want to be there; they looked as lost as him, even the older two. But their leader was so bright, so motivated. Wonshik made small talk when he was nervous.

“Commander N,” he stared at the name tag as if he could get it wrong. Most of his teammates looked away in a shared embarrassment. “Where did they take you from?”

“Nowhere, lieutenant Ravi,” the man replied, a frail smile failing to explain much. “I joined when I turned seventeen.”

Giving up his identity was easy.

“Ravi” rolled out of his tongue effortlessly. His birth certificate was burned alongside his best friend’s, and in a shared moment, they managed to even laugh about it.

Giving up his destiny, though, was different. Between the two of them, Wonshik was the only one with a mark. He was letting go of a promise, burning off a dream. It was the first time he apologized to his skin.

For weeks, Wonshik theorized that N was born without a mark. It was fair to believe that no soul would willingly abdicate of one. He was very curious about the man’s past and tried to stitch together information from every interaction.

His superior was very unpredictable. Commander N was warm, affectionate — then strict, a little short-tempered. But always understanding. From where Wonshik could see it, N could’ve been anything, but he was born to lead.  N took every criticism towards his team to himself and never let guilt burden an individual; it was clear he swallowed pressure and fought to not let it bleed out on others.

Although always followed by a sense of regret, his confidence had something to it that made Wonshik’s stomach flutter. Wonshik had been under higher authorities all of his life, but never truly respected them before.

N would ask him every other day if there was something he wanted to talk about, and sometimes he did, always avoiding mentioning the regret that made him soothe the messy tattoo over the burn. He would never meet his soulmate — and he didn’t want to.

Wonshik was so consistently wrong, he shouldn’t have been surprised when his commander undressed far away from him and had a visible scar at the very end of his right rib cage. It was lighter than his skin tone, much like Wonshik’s — a burn — but no ink over it.

The contrast had Wonshik thinking about N’s two-toned lips, his delicate fingertips. He had very pristine skin, as someone in a higher a rank usually did, faint marks were only a brief look into his past. He seemed proud of them, too, differently from Wonshik who tattooed over every single one.

Wonshik wondered if he could memorize them by touch. The unevenness. The bumps and fissures. Could he use his lips—

When someone grabbed his right arm — wrong place, wrong place — Wonshik flinched how he would at being hurt.

His teammate apologized, immediately ceasing contact. “Just—Stare less. He’ll notice it.”

Oh.

It took a couple of months in the field for them all to have a talk about soul marks. Wonshik was upset at how insensitive a teammate that didn’t have one was. It made the youngest one rolls his eyes because his blackout was so apparent, always visible on the wrist. It was still dark, probably not very old. Wonshik wanted to comfort him, but he had no idea how. So he retreated.

His Commander found him sulking on his bottom bunk bed.

“Lieutenant. What would you do if you weren’t here?” The man asked, sitting on the edge of the mattress. “Have you met them?”

“No,” he answered, thinking of himself so silly for being sensitive about things he hasn’t lived. “I’d have chosen anything but this.”

“I’m sorry about that.”

“It’s not your fault,” he was sincere. “We are the best possible outcome of this situation. I just wish we could all be friends in a different world or time.”

And it was true. His current team was the most stable he had been in, even when in disagreement. Maybe N was responsible for it, reaching out to solve every conflict. Maybe N was responsible for a lot of things regarding his situation.

Something seemed to click within N when Wonshik squeezed his own scar, now shirtless, visible how his thumb had memorized where the name used to be.

“I don't think I even remember the name,” his commander said, clearly trying to help. “Do you?”

It only made Wonshik frown.

“I could never forget.”

It would take almost a year before Wonshik could start to understand his commander’s motivations. They’d been having private talks, possibly too many, as highlighted by someone else. But Wonshik didn’t mind, they were always a highlight, no matter how much he pretended the Commander was a clingy burden.

They had two free nights, and Wonshik was feeling happy after hearing an exchange of real names in the middle of the night — would he get to be Wonshik one day, when it all was over? He could tattoo the name back again.

Contrarily to most, when given a rest, Wonshik stayed awake almost the entire time. His mind, a whirlwind of thoughts that were finally given a light to surface, even when the brightness only belonged to the stars at that time.

He pretended not to notice when the Commander sat beside him, it was the best he could do when many of those thoughts concerned exactly how he felt when they were close.

But it was unnerving, how the chatty leader didn’t open his mouth once. Wonshik nervously fought a handful of strategic plans of action that didn’t involve talking at all. And in the end, he nervously asked what had been gnawing at him.

“Why did you join?”

N sighed, and Wonshik realized he could have overstepped, he shouldn’t—

“It was the only way to become a pilot,” the man replied casually, like he probably did many times before. A second sigh preceded a higher confession, and the seconds it took made it clear it was a less worn-down addition.“I couldn’t afford it on my own.”

That was the night that Wonshik realized how unprofessional his interest was.

—

The constant rumination of the soul marks made no sense to him. Time was supposed to heal that, as it did for everyone around him. N had forgotten his, after all. More months into their closeness, and Wonshik didn’t let any question get buried within him.

“And you gave up everything?”

N scoffed, sounding almost offended. “I just believe in making my own choices.”

“Choices,” Wonshik repeated in a whisper, voice trembling. His left hand traced his scar, sinking blunt nails into it, and he once again apologized to his skin.

A warm hand covered his, slowly easing him out of the grip on himself. He was starting to understand, how the mere possibilities of a life he would never have stuck to him as a shield to what his present self wanted. The choice he wanted.

“Do you think they’d permit it?”

Permit what, he could ask, play his foolish persona, move away. “He—he would,” Wonshik said instead, faintly, his irregular heartbeat like a knot in his throat. Someone had “Wonshik” etched to their skin, and they should—they would want him to have something for himself, and if this something was—

Then there was a hand on his face, and he closed his eyes — I permit it too — but N only exhaled right against his neck.

Keo, rehearsing a romantic scene for a musical leads to feelings surfacing

Final(ly), Kiss Scene

(Anonymous) 2024-12-01 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)

"Okay so you have to hold her face, like this," Jaehwan brings his hands up to hold Taekwoon's face, and wow, his hands are so warm, Taekwoon thinks, as his cheeks quickly warm up from the touch.

"And you gaze at her, really really stare into those eyes," Jaehwan says, eyes boring into his soul, and Taekwoon is pretty sure Jaehwan can see right through him; every little blip in time and space and memory of them rehearsing things together. From little things like a note needing to be sung a half-tone lower, to staying up all night going over a dance routine because it doesn't look quite right. ("It looks fine." "Don't say that. Play it from the top again.")

Taekwoon's eyes widen a bit more as Jaehwan leans in, closer and closer, until he's almost cross-eyed staring at Jaehwan's eyes still, too scared to look anywhere else. "Slowly. Like what I just did," Jaehwan whispers, his breath ghosting over Taekwoon's lips. He's too close, and it's burning Taekwoon up.

Taekwoon squeezes his eyes shut then, but doesn't move as he's frozen in place.

("Hyung, thank you for coming with me so late. I'm sorry I had to drag you out."

"No, don't worry about it. You wanted to rehearse."

"Thanks again," Jaehwan smiled.)

("Taekwoonie-hyung works the hardest, which is why I look up to him. He knows a lot about being a great singer and musical actor. I look forward to what he has to teach me for my new role as an upcoming musical actor.")

("If you keep doing this, you won't have a voice to use tomorrow."

A sigh and drop of headphones on the table. "I can't get it right, Jaehwan-ah. I can't do this."

Suddenly, warm hands on his cheeks, and knees on either side of his legs on the creaking office chair. "You can, okay? You can. Just not tonight. You need rest."

A pause. Too tired to think. "Okay. And you'll come with me tomorrow?"

The warmth leaving him much too fast. "Of course.")

Jaehwan's lips barely brush his, then move away; a kiss but not really, but Taekwoon feels the spot tingle from the touch as if it pierced him. And he opens his eyes, finding Jaehwan still way too close, but not close enough. He's positively melting in Jaehwan's hands, and this is so silly, because all he did was ask if Jaehwan wanted to help him rehearse the final kiss scene in his musical. In retrospect, this was a mistake, to let Jaehwan gaze into his soul for too long, as he had enough time to search and find everything he felt.

A puff of air washing over him. A small laugh. "Fuck it."

Then Jaehwan is closing the gap and kissing him properly, intensely, belatedly. Taekwoon's own hands find their way to Jaehwan's neck, and he gasps at that, maybe because his hands are cold. But Jaehwan doesn't stop until he's out of breath and Taekwoon feels like he's met the sun.

("Actually, don't do it like that. It'll be too much for her. And the audience."

"Do you want to show me how, then? There's still time to rehearse.")

HaKen, they spend a cozy Christmas eve together

hakendy cane (hashtag working title)

(Anonymous) 2024-12-04 01:25 am (UTC)(link)

hakyeon rifles through his tote, balancing it on his thigh as he braces himself against the door to his condo with his knee, the other hand occupied with a cardboard tray with an iced americano and a half coffee-half hot chocolate (with whipped cream always). amongst the various bottles of things and books and odds and ends he finally manages to grasp onto his lanyard. re-hooking his tote onto this forearm, he gingerly keys the door open, pushing through with a shoulder.

the smell of something spiced hits him in a sweet, warm puff before he notices jaehwan standing in front of him. hakyeon's heart nearly escapes his throat, just shy of spilling the drinks in his hand in his shock.

jaehwan is standing like a deer in the headlights with a whisk covered in red icing poised in the air.

“you cannot keep doing this jaehwan-ah,” hakyeon chides, breathless, hand over his pounding heart, “that key is for emergencies!”

jaehwan flits closer, looking all the bit a disney character with excitement (and a hint of mischief, hakyeon notes) sparkling in his big doe eyes, “mmm, i think i can actually,” he takes the tray from hakyeon, twirling his whisk, “i basically live here already!”

hakyeon's eyes follow the splotch of red icing now on his snow white area rug and sighs.

jaehwan was right. over time the younger had snuck a couple pairs of shoes, a toothbrush, and even some skincare and makeup into hakyeon's place; like a tiny, annoying symbiotic parasite that's latched onto his side, but hakyeon hopes he never lets go.

the two lived in the same building, a couple of floors apart to be exact. jaehwan had a cute little corgi puppy that he walked every morning, like clockwork, at the same time hakyeon went for his morning jog. eventually they got to talking after eyeing each other for weeks. plus hakyeon was a sucker for cute puppies and their equally as cute owners.

the younger shuffles his way back to the kitchen island, wearing a pair of his very own duck slippers - another item that lives in hakyeon's apartment now.

“and you were making a lot of commotion out there!” he places the tray onto the island, stabbing his whisk into a metal bowl - presumably what he was mixing the red icing in, “what if that was a big scary thief coming to steal your really lame table doilies!”

he absentmindedly shakes the whisk again, more red splattering onto the marble countertop and the foot of a gingerbread man that was cooling off on the many baking sheets - somehow reminiscent of a horror movie if it wasn’t for jaehwan in his mickey mouse apron.

hakyeon snorts, raising an eyebrow as he removes his boots, “and you were going to fight off the doily thief with a whisk just now? drink your hot chocolate before it gets cold.”

he hangs up his maroon peacoat on the coat rack, tossing his tote on the couch before walking further into the condo, “i was going to call you over but you made yourself home now didn’t you?”

jaehwan smiles sheepishly, looking up through his lashes and mumbling something about being too cute to die before taking a sip from his drink. he makes a delighted sound.

“anyways!” the younger chirps, wiping his hands on his apron, the new smear of red matching the one he somehow got on nose, “what do we think?”

he beams, resting an elbow on the counter and his chin on his fist.

hakyeon finally lets himself register all the colours assaulting his eyes and can't help but smile wider; his usual muted but warm coloured living area was decorated with possibly everything he could think of.

impeccably neat, pleasing to the eye, and with a little jaehwan touch.

deep red and green stockings trimmed with gold lining the fireplace, a cute little figurine of santa and his reindeer on the mantle. gold letter balloons spelling out ‘merry xmas’ on the walls opposite the tv, cotton on windowsill to mimic snow - he even drew little snowflakes on the window with a paint marker.

but the real show stopper was the tree: adorned heavily with green and gold and white baubles, ribbon and tinsel and candy canes. it was draped so artfully and spaced out so perfectly in a way only the younger could. jaehwan must’ve taken hours just to make sure everything was positioned just right.

hakyeon turns to jaehwan, the younger having walked half into the living room now to admire his work, “c'mere.”

jaehwan inches almost shyly towards him, always so sweet, and hakyeon snakes an arm around his waist to pull him into his embrace, “it's beautiful. thank you baby, i love it.”

he grabs a felt reindeer antler headband left on the coffee table with his free hand and nestles it on top of the younger’s fluffy hair, completing the look to jaehwan’s red tipped nose.

“my little rudolph,” he coos.

jaehwan nuzzles further into the side of his neck when hakyeon scratches at his nape with blunt fingernails, sighing.

“oh!” hakyeon jumps slightly, jostling jaehwan, “i have something for you too.”

hakyeon leaves the younger’s side and scurries towards his bedroom, hastily opening up his bedside drawer and pulling out a small box. he quickly pads back to jaehwan and hands it to him, a small smile teasing at his lips, “i was going to save this for tomorrow morning, but i think now would be the perfect time to open it.”

jaehwan looks down at the box, a small thin present wrapped in shiny dark blue foiled paper and topped off with a frilly gold bow. he carefully opens it, prying open the folds and ignoring hakyeon whining to ‘just open it!’

the younger opens the lid, and inside is a key, nestled in a blue flocked lining.

“we’ve been dating for a while but… would you want to finally,” hakyeon chuckles, voice thick, “officially… move in with me?”

tears pool in jaehwan’s eyes immediately, and he practically bounds into hakyeon’s arms, squeezing tight and leaning his head against him. the older always made moments like this special, even though it was already a given. having it be a milestone in their relationship meant so much to them, and jaehwan can’t wait for the next one.

“of course i will,” jaehwan says, voice watery next to hakyeon’s ear.

hakyeon breathes in jaehwan’s scent, a mix of his candied perfume and the gingerbread he just baked, a pleased hum on his tongue as he pets jaehwan’s hair once more. reveling in the quiet of jaehwan’s heartbeat and his own.

“we're under the mistletoe now, just like the movies huh?” hakyeon chuckles.

he doesn't even have to look down to know jaehwan is pouting childishly, “that was supposed to be my line-”

hakyeon shuts him up with a kiss.

hyukbin, finding each other in the same lobby of a game, and they lose the match because they are too busy catching up in the voice channel

(Anonymous) 2024-12-02 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
Hongbin squinted at the tag of the third player of their team. It looked vaguely familiar but at this point, plenty of tags were familiar. It felt familiar in a different way though.

No wait. It couldn't be...?

Hongbin unmuted himself. "Hyuk?" he asked, tentatively. If he was wrong, well then, he was wrong. He took a breath as he saw the player hit unmute. He could laugh it off--

"Damn, how'd you guess?" Sanghyuk's came through his earbud.

"HSH isn't subtle," Hongbin said with a laugh. Of relief, and of genuine joy. He shrugged, not that anyone could see. Absentmindedly, he cycled through his weapons. "The six twenty was the real tip off," he added.

"Ah well, I was feeling sentimental," Sanghyuk said, his character running circles in place. "Feeling all like Tae-- Like that cry-baby hyung."

Hongbin guffawed, abruptly aware that there was a third party member. A casual gamer friend, the sort that didn't even know Hongbin's face, but one that he knew enough to queue up together.

"So watcha up to these days?" Sanghyuk asked.

"Same old," Hongbin said. "Hang on, countdown's about to start."

"We queued rank if you've forgotten," his gamer friend muttered darkly.

"Oh, so you're just using hyung to climb?" Sanghyuk chirped as a robotic voice readied them for the game. "Personally my rank can take a hit, but I know not everyone's can. Although you've probably been playing for longer than me, so this matters to you more, huh?"

"Don't be mean Hyukkie," Hongbin scolded, even as the third wheel spluttered. "And don't forget who taught you."

"Yeah, yeah, the great Kong-nim," Sanghyuk said. He could almost see the brat rolling his eyes. Hongbin maneuvered his character into position was practiced ease.

"Fuck this, I'm going alone," Hongbin's no-longer-friend muttered, and hit mute on probably both his own speaker and his headphones. Oh well.

"D'you think he sees... guess that's a nope," Sanghyuk said, as he watched their teammate get neatly sniped by the enemy Sanghyuk had been planning to sneak up on.

"We don't need him," Hongbin said, even as the guy left the lobby. "You could always hop on stream and see what, y'know."

"Hm? I'm not talking about your streams, hyung," Sanghyuk said. "You've gotta have some sort of life."

"Coming from you?" Hongbin asked. He narrowly dodged a sniper that he should've seen coming.

"Hey, I'm enlisted and all that," Sanghyuk said. "Being a good little office worker and keeping my nose out of trouble. Can't believe you didn't invite me on your warm vacation. Above you."

Hongbin turned his aim up and didn't quite headshot the enemy that Sanghyuk had noticed, but he did at least take a chunk of health off.

"Oi, if you knew about that why'd you ask?" Hongbin dashed around, intending to gain height. "And last I checked, you're the busy one."

"Yeah, well," Sanghyuk said offhandedly. "You know--shit."

His heartfelt curse was echoed a moment later as Hongbin's screen also flashed grey. He didn't really mind, not when the grousing complaints alternated with giggles about losing rank coming from his earbuds was in Han Sanghyuk's voice.

"Queue again?" Hongbin asked.

"How can I turn down an invitation from the great Lee Hongbin?" Sanghyuk said, and Hongbin knew the shit-eating grin that accompanied those words.

(After the third loss, Sanghyuk suggested moving to an off-game voicechat, because he'd been bluffing and his LP couldn't actually take another hit, or he'd be moving down a tier. He already needed Hongbin to take responsibility and that couldn't happen if he dropped too low.)

Severely

(Anonymous) 2024-12-20 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
He thought he had gotten good at it, gotten over it, cried enough thinking about it; but it turns out, he hadn’t. Of course he was going to run into Jaehwan– being the frontman of a big label rock band after all– headlining every gig in a 30 mile radius while Sanghyuk was still in indie hell, but he still picked up some small gigs like this one. His band was next, and they had practiced earlier until his drummer was literally begging him to stop, threatening to snap his drumsticks in half, so they agreed to just grab some drinks and relax before their performance. So, there Sanghyuk was, standing in the crowd with sweaty palms and his composure quickly crumbling as the first chords of Jaehwan’s band’s new song began. It was nostalgic pop rock, borderline a ballad, and of course it was good– anything Jaehwan did was good– and Sanghyuk had been playing it on repeat lately.

Maybe it was a coincidence, maybe it was deliberate. It wasn’t like Sanghyuk was in any position to ask, but the song seemed to hit a bit too close to home to be just another song his label produced and asked them to perform. It was about a sad ending, about letting go, but not wanting to forget. Jaehwan’s voice didn’t waver one bit, perfectly belting every heartbreaking lyric and high note, accompanied by the guitarist’s expert riffs. Hearing it live was much more intense than through his laptop’s pathetic speakers, and he was stupidly tearing up at the guitar solo during the bridge, while Jaehwan nodded his head to himself with pursed lips, taking a quick break. And it broke Sanghyuk even more, his heart plummeting; the idea that Jaehwan probably didn’t know or care that he was there in the crowd, and that Sanghyuk was the only person crazy enough to have this reaction over a song. Just a song. Sanghyuk grabbed the closest full shot glass from the table and tipped it back, wincing at the burn as he swallowed. He noted to himself to never go drinking again with bandmates that enjoy plain soju.

The song ended, the crowd cheered and clapped, and Jaehwan bowed, grinning all the while. He glowed under the stage lights, and Sanghyuk was now all sorts of tipsy, angry, sad and jealous over his ex boyfriend smiling at everyone except him. Not that he deserved it anyway.

They left the stage, and Sanghyuk was frantically being dragged by the arm towards the green room. They had a few minutes to get ready now, a generic soundtrack playing as their countdown timer. He shoved the in-ear monitor into his ear, asking for a test. Everything seemed fine: all the countdown clicks and test rhythms sounding good. He hummed some vocal exercises to himself while the others got ready. With 30 seconds remaining, he gave his bandmates a thumbs up and a nod, which they all returned, and he turned to look at the stage, lit in purple and blue. His eyes travelled, and landed– just on the opposite side of the stage, behind the same black curtain– on Jaehwan staring at him. Or beyond him, he wasn’t sure. His arms were crossed, and he could make out the slight frown on his face, mostly blank. But at that moment, Jaehwan must’ve noticed Sanghyuk staring back, because he quickly put on a small smile after shaking his head. 20 seconds. Sanghyuk turned away.

He felt a touch to his forearm, and he looked up again, to meet the worried eyes of his bassist. “The mic isn’t going anywhere,” he said, and that’s when Sanghyuk noticed he was white-knuckling the thing. He exhaled, relenting his grip, and the others clapped him on the shoulder. 10 seconds. “Let’s knock everyone’s socks off.” Sanghyuk concluded, giving everyone a nod again. And the crowd began to cheer as the curtain was pushed to the side, and they stepped into the purple glow.

In more ways than Jaehwan could count, tonight was turning out to be a series of mistakes. One was agreeing to this gig in the first place, despite finding out Sanghyuk’s band was playing too. But they kinda needed this after last month's studio rental bill came in. Another one was staring at Sanghyuk while he got ready to go on. And another was not catching himself on time, and smiling at him, because he gave himself false hope that Sanghyuk would smile back. And yet another was sticking around for Sanghyuk’s song, after all of that. But he couldn’t tear his eyes away from the sight of Sanghyuk pulling the guitar strap over his neck and settling the instrument comfortably in his grip. He couldn’t help but stare as Sanghyuk closed his eyes, and began strumming. The drums and bass soon joined in, and the sweet sound of Sanghyuk’s voice filled the room. This was a huge mistake, for Jaehwan to notice the subtle crack in Sanghyuk’s voice as he sang a line about learning how to secretly cry, to smile through it all, and again about loving so severely and foolishly it hurt to breathe. Jaehwan watched him furrow his brows, almost struggling to continue, but he persisted through the song’s key change for the final verse. It was his biggest mistake, of letting Sanghyuk go, and leading him to this instance, listening to Sanghyuk vocally yearn while he stood on the sidelines. Sanghyuk ended the song with a final strum, and the lights went out. The crowd applauded loudly, some guests even whistling their praise. He heard footsteps approaching him in the dark, so Jaehwan swiftly turned on his heels and strode away as quickly as possible.

If he could help it, by god, Jaehwan was not going to make the mistake of seeing Sanghyuk again.

neo, hakyeon sharing his love for film camera with taekwoon

(Anonymous) 2024-12-15 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Taekwoon stared down at the camera like it would take up the film without him.

"This is hard," he whined at Hakyeon. "Why can't--"

"Putting a filter on your phone camera is not the same," Hakyeon cut him off sharply, giving him one of his infamous stink eyes.

Taekwoon shrank back a little with a defeated whimper.

"You can do it!" Hakyeon encouraged him. "Try folding the end in again a bit."

Taekwoon caught his lip between his teeth as he tried his best to follow Hakyeon's instructions. His fingers felt thick and clumsy as he fumbled with the roll of film. Every time he thought he'd gotten it to catch, it popped off like it was vexing him on purpose. And now there was so much film hanging out it'd become even harder to maneuver.

"Here, you big baby," Hakyeon said. He shifted to sit behind Taekwoon, and Taekwoon happily leaned back against Hakyeon's chest with a content hum.

"No. We are doing this together," Hakyeon said, giving Taekwoon a sharp push in the back that had him toppling forward like a daruma doll. He was much slower to sit back up, though.

"Here, put this back in first," Hakyeon said, slipping the film canister into Taekwoon's hand. Taekwoon grudgingly slid it back into the recess.

"There, that wasn't too hard was it?" Hakyeon encouraged.

"That was the easy part, everything else is hard," Taekwoon grumbled.

"All it takes is practice!" Hakyeon said. He rested his chin on Taekwoon's shoulder and Taekwoon resisted turning to kiss him--mostly because he was sure Hakyeon would just slap him away. So he obligingly picked up the film lead again. And stared at it.

"Hakyeon," Taekwoon whined, tilting his head back a little. "Help me please?"

"Fine, just this once," Hakyeon acquiesed. His hands were strong and his fingers were precise and Taekwoon marvelled at how easy it seemed for him to slip the little tab of the film into the slot on the spinny thing. It didn't hurt that Hakyeon's arms felt very nice around him.

"Taekwoon, are you paying attention?" Hakyeon's irritated huff brought him back to his present dilemna.

"I'm paying attention," Taekwoon said guiltily.

"Then what did I just ask you to do?"

"Uhhhhh..."

"Wind it. Slowly. And use your fingers to guide the film onto the sprockets," Hakyeon said. He prodded Taekwoon until his left hand was handling the film and his right hand was on the advance wheel. Hakyeon's fingers were smooth and soft as they shifted Taekwoon's into the right place.

"Like this?" Taekwoon asked, nervously turning the wheel and waiting for the film to pop out again at any second.

"That's right," Hakyeon said. He repositioned Taekwoon's fingers slightly. "Now just make sure it's catching over here."

"It's working!" Taekwoon said with delight. Somehow, Hakyeon had made it work. The film was moving and the teeth sprocket things were grabbing into the weird holes and somehow all the extra film that had been getting in his way was neatly wrapped up on the cylinder.

"See, I told you you could do it," Hakyeon said. "Now close it up like I showed you, and we can take it for a spin!"

"Can I get a reward first," Taekwoon asked, leaning his head all the way back to rest against Hakyeon's chest.

"Do you want a sticker?" Hakyeon asked flatly.

"Chocolate?" Taekwoon asked hopefully.

Hakyeon sighed, and obligingly pressed a soft kiss to Taekwoon's forehead, sending nice, fuzzy tingles across Taekwoon's skin. Taekwoon beamed, and Hakyeon had to work very hard not to kiss him right then and there until—

Right. Film.

Hakyeon stood up, dumping Taekwoon very unceremoniously onto the ground.

Aperture and exposure first, he said to himself as Taekwoon stared up at him piteously.

"Chocolate only if you remember what aperture is," Hakyeon said quickly. And maybe some other rewards... maybe.

anything based on this https://x.com/kimjyans/status/1827713997787021346, either jaehwan seeing things and being reminded of everyone/someone specific, or keo specifically with jaehwan buying it anyway and going to build it to taekwoon's place to gift it to him

(Anonymous) 2024-12-15 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"Surprise!" Jaehwan thrust the giant fucking box at Taekwoon the moment he opened the door. It was gift wrapped with a neat bow and all, but Taekwoon had a very good idea what it was.

Taekwoon shut the door.

Or, he would've, if Jaehwan hadn't shoved his way in, nearly bowling Taekwoon over in the process.

"I don't like building things," Taekwoon said, a bit whinier than he meant. "I told you that."

"But it suits hyung so much!" Jaehwan said--which was why Jaehwan was now seated in the middle of a very painful 'the floor is lava' game (where the lava was the discomboluted parts of the giant lego Shinchan Jaehwan had seen and immediately texted Taekwoon about), while Taekwoon watched from the safety of the couch with a glass of wine.

"Are you sure you're reading the instructions right?" Taekwoon asked, peering at what he assumed was Shinchan's torso, based on the colour.

"Have a bit more faith in me hyung," Jaehwan huffed indignantly without looking up from the instruction booklet. "Trust the process."

"It's been three hours," Taekwoon said. It was also midnight.

"And I'm gonna be here however long it takes!" Jaehwan declared, beaming up at Taekwoon in some sort of sunshine super-effective attack.

Taekwoon sighed and sat up, digging his slippers out from where they'd slid half under the couch. "I have rehearsal tomorrow afternoon, I'm going to sleep."

He was surprised but also not too surprised to find Jaehwan still in his living room in the morning. He'd fallen asleep on the couch, head pillowed on his arms. Taekwoon smiled fondly and drew one of the blankets he kept on the couch for his own 'just a quick nap' moments over Jaehwan's sleeping form.

The living room was still too hazardous to step foot in, although Jaehwan had definitely made progress. Well, he'd told Jaehwan he wasn't going to build it and he planned on sticking to his word, but he could make coffee and breakfast for two.

At least the kitchen floor was still safe... For now.

new year's in that beach, again, the 6 of them

golden

(Anonymous) 2024-12-16 12:04 pm (UTC)(link)

The boys have been on the road for two hours but have been awake for much longer. The new year’s celebration lasted well into the night and before anyone had a chance to nap, Hakyeon bundled everyone into the large SUV that Taekwoon had rented and they had set off for the east coast.

“We’re all getting too old for this now” Hongbin complains, stifling a yawn. Normally staying awake till the morning would not be an issue if he was at home gaming but social interactions use up so much more energy. The excitement and exhaustion of the new year is getting to him.

“At least it is a beach this time. I did not want to climb up a mountain to see the sunrise” Sanghyuk reminds him.

The trip three years ago was a hike to see the morning sunrise and none of them had been in shape enough to hike all the way up to the top without severe exhaustion and a few wheezes. This time when Hakyeon had proposed getting together on the first, everyone had adamantly voted against repeating the activity.

“You’re all free to plan the trip instead of grumbling” Hakyeon says, glaring at the pair who grin at him.

“I’m surprised your bones don’t rattle with the speed bumps Hyung” Hongbin says, enjoying Hakyeon’s death threats when they start.

“I am in perfect shape, no thank you” Hakyeon insists.

“Hush. You’ll wake Jaehwan” Taekwoon admonishes them, from the driver's seat. Jaehwan is peacefully asleep on Wonshik’s shoulder and in the rearview mirror Taekwoon can see him squirm at the noise.

“Oh, we forgot to bring snacks” Wonshik remembers suddenly. He’s not sure if the beach they are headed towards is generally a vast empty stretch or the part with stalls and restaurants setup. Given everyone’s general inclination to privacy, he thinks it would be the first.

“We can grab some if we see shops on the way” Taekwoon assures him. They passed the last rest stop on the road fifteen minutes ago and Taekwoon doesn’t want to turn back now. Although the idea that he might find some hot coffee there does sound alluring.

“No food. No water. No sleep. These are torturous conditions” Sanghyuk says, only teasing Hakyeon who turns around in the passenger seat and stretches his arms out to chop his neck.

But he falls short and regrets it when he sees Sanghyuk’s eyes light up. All hell breaks loose when Hongbin joins in, dramatically gasping and exclaiming about the mistreatment while Sanghyuk exaggerates the terrible conditions they find themselves in. Wonshik, who is stuck in the middle by virtue of the seating arrangement, tries to quieten them down but finds teasing Hakyeon to be too much fun.

“Are we there yet?” Jaehwan asks, cracking an eye open. The sky is starting to turn light blue and the highway hits the beach so they can hear the roaring of the waves clearly now. The sound has woken him up and he snuggles deeper into Wonshik, trying to hold onto the warmth of his embrace.

“Almost” Hakyeon says softly, reaching out to pet his head. Jaehwan gives him a smile and closes his eyes for a minute. Resting before he must absolutely wake up.

“I forgot how long the coastline highway is” Sanghyuk says, staring out of the window as Taekwoon drives by.

“It’s a pretty drive, isn’t it?” Hakyeon asks happily. Now that they are close to the destination, Hakyeon has more energy and is visibly happy about it. The others are also smiling to themselves, Taekwoon notes from the reflections in the rear view mirror.

They arrive at a relatively isolated part of the beach. There are benches set up on an extension of the road where cars can stop to take in the view. There are people on the beach, setting up mats and picnic baskets and the boys choose a spot closer to the water. The high tide has receded, leaving wet sand behind. There is some complaining but Taekwoon spots a coffee shop in the distance and soon that stops too. Once settled in with hot beverages of their choice, the boys fall silent. The sun is on the horizon now and rises slowly.

“It’s colder out here” Taekwoon remarks.

“It’s always colder out here because of the sea wind” Wonshik replies. “It would be a great destination for summer vacations but a pain in the winter.”

“It’s greyer than I thought it would be” Hongbin says. He remembers the previous trips to the seaside being so sunny and golden. Here the wind and the clouds make everything grey and mildly depressing.

“You’re awfully silent. Still sleepy Hyung?” Sanghyuk asks Jaehwan who has been watching the waves ever since they settled down.

“I’m just… reflecting on the year that went by” Jaehwan said. It’s an odd effect of sitting by the sea. It makes a person introspective.

“What do you think the new year would be like?” Jaehwan asks, turning to his company. Sanghyuk frown thoughtfully and Taekwoon takes a final sip of his coffee.

“I hope it’s not as eventful as the past few. It would be nice to have a peaceful year for a change” Wonshik starts.

“You’re the most restless of us all. I doubt you can sit still for longer than five minutes” Hakyeon teases.

“I don’t think any of us can. So I hope the new year brings more adventure and we get to try all the things we haven’t in the past” Sanghyuk adds.

“I hope we get to spend more time together like this. Not just on special occasions” Taekwoon says quietly.

Of the six, Taekwoon is the most vocal about how much he misses the time they spent together but everyone feels the sentiment. Hakyeon reaches out and intertwines his hands with Taekwoon’s and they share a bittersweet smile. Growing older frequently includes growing apart to a certain extent. All things considered, they are here and they are together now and that is job well done.

“You’re all such saps” Hongbin grumbles. “Here I was, just hoping for more money.”

Sanghyuk rolls his eyebrows and shoves Hongbin which makes everyone laugh slightly. Jaehwan, who is now more awake and energetic, does his best impression of an angry grandmother who is appalled by the lack of decorum her grandkids are showing as Sanghyuk and Hongbin playfight.

Taekwoon pulls out his phone to record it all and Hakyeon thinks that for a blissful golden moment, it’s almost like the days gone by have returned once again.

taekwoon/minseok, rumor has it minseok was with taekwoon when he was in japan... you fill in the blanks

nsfw taekwoon/minseok: to the world we dream about (and the one we live in now)

(Anonymous) 2024-12-20 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Taekwoon let out a content sigh as he saw off the last fans and headed back into the dressing room. As much as it felt regretful to finish any concert or fanmeet, he was tired—and the fans who'd pledged to grow old with him (and who'd spent the past ten years growing old with him) seemed ready to go home and sleep as much as he did. Some of the staff seemed more energised than the fans did, and Taekwoon briefly envied their youth as he thanked them gratefully for all their hard work.

"Your carriage awaits, m'lord," Minseok greeted him cheekily as Taekwoon returned.

"You came!" Taekwoon hugged his friend, almost draping himself over Minseok's sturdy shoulders.

"Told you I would," Minseok said, patting Taekwoon on the back. "Sorry I couldn't say hi earlier."

"I'm just glad to see you," Taekwoon said earnestly. "I've been so busy."

"Have you thought about working less?" Minseok teased. "Grab your things and we can head out, I think the staff want to close up here and go home too."

Taekwoon nodded and said his round of goodbyes and thank yous, and in no time at all they were in Minseok's rental car and on the way back to the hotel. It was a short drive, and Taekwoon, now fully relaxed, let the words flow out of him (in Korean) faster than his thoughts could keep up as Minseok nodded along.

"Meditate, can you believe what the staff put for the yes-no game?" Taekwoon said indignantly.

"Maybe you could give it a try," Minseok suggested as he pulled into the parking structure. "Make it your new year resolution."

"Every time I try I fall asleep," Taekwoon said sulkily. "Even if it's not at bedtime."

"Ah, well, it's the thought that counts," Minseok said.

They kept their hands to themselves up the elevator and down the hall and into the room but that was as far as they got before Taekwoon bent down to nuzzle against Minseok's neck.

"I'm tired," he whined.

Minseok pat Taekwoon comfortingly on the back. "Too tired for some wine?" he asked, as he pushed him slightly off so he could get his coat off.

Taekwoon pursed his lips as he considered this, shedding his own coat. "Maybe," he decided. "Depends on the wine."

"Have I ever brought anything you don't like?" Minseok prodded Taekwoon out of the entryway and Taekwoon reluctantly went, without flopping all over Minseok because the hotel's couch wasn't too bad and he wanted to flop on that instead.

Truthfully, Taekwoon was less interested in the wine and more interested in pulling Minseok down onto the couch with him. Minseok tumbled easily into Taekwoon's lap, eyes twinkling as he let his bag fall onto the floor.

They were both naturally touchy people, although Taekwoon reserved his true clinging to a select few. The problem with being so busy, and with all those select few being so busy, he'd been sorely deprived of his needed cuddle time.

"No wine then?" Minseok teased, but he leaned his forehead against Taekwoon's, grinning.

"Maybe later," Taekwoon said, hands sliding up Minseok's back. He made a face and glowered as they came to rest on the sturdy muscles of his shoulders.

"Stop going to the gym so much," he complained to Minseok's laughter. "You're worse than Jaehwan!"

"I do it just to make you mad," Minseok said solemnly, lips still twitching in amusement.

"I'm not mad," Taekwoon said, pouting. "I just don't understand how you do that."

"By not being a giant," Minseok said, placing a mollifying kiss against Taekwoon's lips. Taekwoon sighed into the kiss, his hands coming to rest against Minseok's waist.

"You're not so bad yourself," Minseok said, pushing Taekwoon's shirt up, hands roaming across Taekwoon's chest. "I don't mind noodles."

Taekwoon huffed, pulling his hands back to cross his arms. "Stop making fun of me," he whined. After a moment of consideration, he quickly tugged off Minseok's shirt and then his own in succession, tossing it carelessly beside him while staring straight into Minseok's eyes like a cat pushing a vase off a drawer while making sure the human knew exactly what he was doing.

Minseok quirked his eyebrows but didn't comment. But he did flex his muscles, watching like a cat that'd got into the cream when Taekwoon swallowed, eyes unable to look away from Minseok's chest.

"Unfair," he muttered, but didn't complain when Minseok pushed him down flat onto his back, or when Minseok straddled his waist, lips curling. Taekwoon reached up, feeling Minseok's muscles shift under his palm. He sighed happily, finally giving in to the smile that'd been threatening to bloom the entire time.

Minseok was very pleasant to look at.

"Done ogling?" Minseok asked, tweaking Taekwoon's nipple and making him yelp.

"That hurt," he whined, but he pulled Minseok down into a hungry kiss, tangling his fingers in Minseok's hair.

Minseok hummed, moulding his body against Taekwoon's as he kissed into Taekwoon's mouth, tasting him thoroughly. He gasped when Taekwoon pushed his thigh against Minseok's crotch, heat immediately winding in his gut.

"Brat," Minseok muttered, pulling back just far enough to meet Taekwoon's pleased gaze without going cross-eyed. He pressed a fond hand against Taekwoon's face, running a thumb against his cheekbones. Taekwoon reciprocated, his fingers pressing gently down on Minseok's neck to guide him down. Minseok kissed Taekwoon's forehead, and then the tip of his nose, and then nipped Taekwoon's lip. Hard.

Taekwoon whimpered, but that was all he had breath for before Minseok kissed him, intense and messy. He squirmed underneath Minseok's solid weight, held in place between Minseok's fingers tangled in his hair, and a hand on his waist. He gasped for breath and Minseok took brief mercy on him.

"Minseo– ah!"

Minseok palmed Taekwoon's cock through his jeans, Taekwoon arching up at the touch with a sharp gasp.

Taekwoon whimpered as Minseok mouthed down the line of Taekwoon's jaw, leaving soft and gentle kisses against the side of his neck, ones that wouldn't mark. Taekwoon bared his neck, whining Minseok's name. Minseok rewarded him with a light scrape of teeth—but nothing more.

"You're on stage in a week," Minseok reminded him, the words brushing against his collar bone.

"I'm… I'm wearing… a shirt," Taekwoon managed between sharp breaths.

Minseok laughed at this, but to Taekwoon's disappointment, didn't give in. He trailed his kisses lower, over his sternum, down the center line of his (noodle) body, palming Taekwoon through his jeans all the while.

Taekwoon reached down but Minseok slapped his hands away.

"Take them off," Taekwoon whined, scrunching up his face. "Too tight."

"Your thighs make up for your ass," Minseok commented as he obliged, Taekwoon lifting his hips to let him pull his jeans off all the way. He sat up, leaving Taekwoon feeling very bereft of warmth as he neatly folded Taekwoon's pants and set them aside.

It was very unfair. Especially after: "why does everyone make fun of my ass 😢“

”I'm not making fun of it, it's just a fact," Minseok said, very seriously. "Besides–"

Minseok finished that sentence not with words, but by biting lightly down on the sensitive inside of Taekwoon's thigh.

Taekwoon groaned, legs falling open as Minseok worried at the same spot, his lips leaving what was sure to be a vivid bruise. Taekwoon squirmed in place, words choked out by gasps of pleasure. He dug his fingers into the couch but there wasn't much give.

"Please please please," Taekwoon begged, sparks firing across his skin and down to the tip of his toes, as the wet heat of Minseok's mouth moved closer but not close enough. Minseok had the gall to chuckle, his breath playing warm against Taekwoon's cock.

"Please," Taekwoon whined.

Minseok smacked Taekwoon's leg, when he tried to hook it around Minseok's waist and drag him closer.

"Don't do that," he scolded.

"But–"

"Don't."

Taekwoon subsided with a whimper and a piteous look. His cheeks were flushed bright red and there was a hint of sweat at his temples, his lips wet with spit. Minseok stretched up for a quick kiss against those sweet, pink lips and Taekwoon's heart swooned in fondness.

A fondness that was immediately overwhelmed by need when Minseok dipped down, this time to suck a bruise against the sharp line of Taekwoon's hip bone.

"Ah–!" Taekwoon cried out and then clamped a hand over his own mouth. He couldn't remember how sound proof this room was. It was a pretty fancy hotel so the walls should be–he bit down on his fist to be safe.

He swallowed as Minseok did the same on the other side, leaving Taekwoon's skin tingling with the pleasant bite of heat and gentle pain. He was making sounds, he knew he was, pathetic whines that rumbled in his throat instead.

"Minseok, please," Taekwoon gasped, moving his fist for a moment, before immediately clamping down on his own hand when Minseok fucking finally took Taekwoon's aching cock in his mouth.

A brief moment of hilarity as he considered what'd happen if he showed up backstage with puncture marks and a bleeding hand, but that was quickly absorbed by the heat of Minseok's mouth around his cock.

Taekwoon squeezed his eyes shut and desperately held on.

He was going to last five seconds like this. It was like he didn't have a body anymore, he just had Minseok's mouth on his cock and it was every sensation all at once, his entire body coiled up in anticipation. He reached blindly for Minseok's shoulder, gripping as tight as he could.

He hoped it'd been at least five seconds.

Taekwoon shuddered as he came into Minseok's mouth, his hand falling limp and forgotten as he cried out in little, throaty sounds. The tingling spread from his cock to his whole body, like warm, molten gold spilling through his veins. Minseok didn't work him into overstimulation (like some people would, whether or not Taekwoon was really in the mood for it or was perfectly fine leaving it there), and was suddenly kissing him again, the taste of Taekwoon's cum still in his mouth. Taekwoon's entire body was jelly, and he tipped his head back to kiss into Minseok's mouth.

"You taste good, hm?" Minseok asked, as he kissed him insistently.

"Mmhmm," Taekwoon agreed, swiping his tongue against Minseok's lips. "Good."

Minseok laughed, letting his weight fall against Taekwoon's chest, as Taekwoon's arms came up to hold him and Minseok snuggled into them like the space was for him, specifically.

In this moment, it was.

"Love you," Taekwoon murmured sleepily, turning to press a soft kiss against Minseok's forehead.

"Love you too, you big sap," Minseok replied. He stroked fingers through Taekwoon's hair, thinking about moving them both to the bed.

Well, maybe a short cat-nap first wouldn't hurt. Minseok licked his lips, rather pleased with how the past few hours had gone, and let his eyes fall shut as well.

If they didn't wake up until morning, complaining about sore backs and aching bones… well, that was a problem for tomorrow morning.
