Another whole year has happened, can you believe it?

... Yeah, me neither.

But the good thing is that with a new year come new chances for presents under the tree :D

He misses his bed.

Hongbin knows it sounds dumb, alright? But after months of sleeping in a room shared with three other guys, he’s ready to lay down in silence and over a matress that’s a little thicker than his fist.

He’s never been one to wish for luxury, but hasn’t he earned the right to have a good night’s sleep?

The point is, he has been basically discharged and it’s Christmas and it’s cold and he can’t wait to get home, run a bath and sleep. His roomate will be gone for the holidays, with his family, so he will be blissfully alone before he goes back to his own family for the new year.

He’s so busy imagining the way the mattress will feel when he lays on it that he almost doesn’t notice the sounds of movement around his apartment.

Almost.

He stands at the entrance, unmoving, and listens. There’s movement going on inside. A robbery, he thinks at first, but the door to the apartment was closed so that’s unlikely. But if not a robbery, then what?

And that’s when he hears it.

“Come on hyung, finish up cooking, we have to leave everything ready and find somewhere to hide before he comes,” someone is saying. Hongbin must be hallucinatin because that definitely sounds like Sanghyuks voice.

“Don’t we need to decorate?” someone that sounds very much like Taekwoon replies.

“We already took care of that, Taekwoonie,” someone who for sure isn’t Hakyeon replies. “Jaehwannie even has the Christmas music all ready for the moment.”

Hongbin’s feet move on their own, slowly getting him closer to the end of the small corridor, so he can see for sure who has intruded his house that sound so much like them.

“Ugh, okay, oka. Wonshik-ah, help me find something to put this in, please,” Taekwoon pleads. His back is to the entrance as he works on the tiny kitchen ina corner of the living room, but yep, that’s definitely him.

And there, finishing the Christmas decorations, are the rest of them too focused on their things to even see Hongbin. Standing there.

He’s wondering why the fuck is there a small deer head stuck on his bedroom door when Wonshik calls from the cupboard he’s this close to get lost into.

“Hyung, so you know where I could find the big dishes? I can’t find anything in here.”

Hongbin’s answer is automatic.

“On the cabinet by the tv,” he says, “at least they were there the last time I needed it.”

“Thanks,” he says.

And then… silence.

It will be something funny to remember in the future, the way all of them turn, at the same time, where Hongbin is standing.

Scratch that, when he sees Jaehwan pinch at Hakyeon, he can’t wait the snort that escapes him.

“Surprise?”

OH MY GOD. I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. Hongbin gets a VIXX and VIXX gets a Hongbin and my HEART IS SO FULL. This is canon. I refuse to accept anything less.

This is the sweetest!!! I love this a lot! How the rest of VIXX thought they were being sneaky with their surprise, lol, but my heart!! at them cooking and decorating Hongbin's place to welcome him back! (cries)
