Chasang - because I'm a hoe for them

[Sorta inspired by 'croissant']
[This is def not three sentences lmao]

Hakyeon is running late, really late, and he's speed walking in the opposite direction to where he's supposed to be headed, but he cannot bring himself to care when his eyes fall upon the navy-blue name board sitting neatly atop a set of glass doors. He bends at his waist and rests a palm against one of the windows behind which he can see the an array of sweet treats, hugging and puffing through the stitch in his stomach.

He straightens and pulls on his gloves snugly, and pushes in through the doors to a jingle from the overhead bell.

His heart flutters and his stomach swoops dangerously when the man behind the counter looks up at him, a smile creasing the corners of his eyes endearingly, and really, Hakyeon is only human. He's only human, and he's never been so fucked.

"Hello, welcome to The Buttery End, " Sanghyuk tilts his head and Hakyeon can see a streak of white across his left cheek and oh, how in the world can a full grown man look so cute with flour all over?

Hakyeon thinks he'd like some time out. He's really like to go calm his heart down, thank you very much.

Flour dusted fingers snap in his face, effectively snapping him out of staring and he smiles sheepishly, rubbing at the skin at the back of his neck. "You aren't listening, are you?" Sanghyuk laughs, and Hakyeon wants to cry.

He shakes his head minutely and watches Sanghyuk chuckle. "I'm sorry," he's really not. Hakyeon can spend hours just staring at Sanghyuk.

"I was asking you if you'd like your regular order,"

"That would be appreciated,"

Hakyeon thanks his stars the bakery is empty, because, as much as he makes a fool of himself in front of Sanghyuk, he'd rather there are no witnesses. He still winces when he thinks of the previous and only time he brought Hongbin along. The bastard still likes to remind that Sanghyuk doesn't really know what his profession is.

It's not that Hakyeon is embarrassed, per se. He's a dancer and a pretty darn good one at that, but he's had enough negative reactions to it that he's learnt to keep it to himself.

Sanghyuk taps his fingers against the counter. "Aren't you supposed to be at work right now?" he asks, a smile playing at his lips like he knows what sort of an effect he has on Hakyeon and really, Hakyeon can't even blame Sanghyuk for it.

"I can't go to work without dropping in to see my favourite baker,"

"You're such a flirt,"

"Only with you,"

Sanghyuk raises an eyebrow before turning back to the till and inputting Hakyeon's order. "That would be 8000 won,"

Hakyeon reaches into his pocket to pull out his wallet, but he miscalculates the angle and his foot slips against the polished wooden flooring and a gasp escapes his mouth and his fingers scrabble to grab onto something, anything but he's still going to fall damnit, and oh -

Fingers wrap securely against his biceps and his skin burns at Sanghyuk's touch. He's pulled upright and set properly on his feet. Hakyeon's heart hammers away inside his chest because he's fine, really, but Sanghyuk's fingers are still wrapped around his arm and his eyes are filled with concern and oh, God, Sanghyuk is touching him without any barriers and Hakyeon is suddenly scared.

Sanghyuk seems to realise at the exact same moment, because his jaw drops open and he promptly retracts his hand. Sanghyuk watches Hakyeon and then snaps his eyes to Hakyeon's arm and what exactly is Hakyeon supposed to make of that expression?

Sanghyuk's eyes are widened, his lips apart - very prettily, but Hakyeon is trying really hard not to be a horny idiot at the moment - and the hand he had used to grab Hakyeon in currently lying plam up on the counter. "Uh,"

Hakyeon drags his eyes away from Sanghyuk's to his arm and his breath hitches.

There is a beautiful pale red coloured bruise in the shape of a crescent moon beginning to take shape, the edges blurring out into the surrounding skin and oh - it's his soulmark.

Hakyeon's throat parches. He looks up at Sanghyuk and finds him looking at him already. "It's you," he manages to mutter. It's definitely not his fault if it comes out breezily.

Sanghyuk tilts his head and puts out his hand, as if inviting Hakyeon's.

Hakyeon pulls off his gloves and tentatively reaches over to trace the life line on Sanghyuk's palm, waiting and watching with bated breath as a long strak of soulmark appears prettily on Sanghyuk's skin.

Hakyeon lets out a laugh, part giddy and part hysterical because really, this is so, so much better that he imagined.

And when Sanghyuk laughs with him, his heart settles, if just a bit, because in the end, his crush isn't that unrequited, is it?
